What it is

Sundays
that test
the week

The APL is a weekly competitive league played at two centralised venues — QBE Stadium in Albany for the North, and Macleans College for the East. Fixtures are against the strongest academy sides in the region — this is a level up from club football, and it is meant to be.

Training is where the work happens. Sunday is where your player finds out what has actually stuck. Players who train twice a week and play the APL get a full competitive cycle every seven days, which is the fastest way we know to move a player forward.

Before you register

Two ways
to qualify

Every APL player has to be training with us during the week. A player who only turns up on Sundays is not being developed, they are just being played — so we ask for one of the following.

Two 90+ trainings
a week

Any two nights of the Full Time Programme — Monday, Wednesday or Friday. This is the standard route for most players.

$20  ·  per session

Fencibles Summer
Academy

For 90+ East players. Attendance at the Summer Academy satisfies the weekly training requirement in place of Full Time sessions.

90+ East players only

If you are not sure which applies to your player, register your interest anyway and we will sort it with you.

The cost

$270,
or $170

The APL fee covers the full seven-week season. Our player sponsorship scheme brings it down by $100 — ask us about it, it is there to be used.

What we ask
of parents

Competitive Sundays put pressure on everyone, including the adults. These four are the difference between a season that develops your player and one that just entertains us.

Parent values

  • No touchline coachingLet players make decisions independently.
  • Praise effort, not resultsTrust the journey — progress comes in layers. Watch why →
  • Growth over winningWe develop people before players.
  • Respect all rolesCoaches coach, players play, parents support.

What we do

  • Process > OutcomeResults don't define success — growth does.
  • Hunger > SkillDesire beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.
  • Humility > EgoWe value team players who elevate others.
  • Do The ExtraEffort in the unseen moments defines true development.

What we expect
of players

  • Be comfortable being uncomfortablePressure builds character.
  • Delayed gratificationChoose long-term growth over short-term comfort.
  • ConsistencyTurn up, every week, ready to work.
  • Tactical understandingKnow the game beyond the ball.
